Tire labels belong to the special category of industrial high-temperature-resistant self-adhesive labels, whose technical requirements are vastly different from conventional consumer-goods packaging labels. During tyre manufacturing, labels go through harsh production workflows including high-temperature vulcanisation processes. Meanwhile, finished tyres face rubber-oil contamination inside factories and long-term outdoor open-air storage after leaving production lines. Ordinary general-purpose label materials cannot survive these rigorous conditions: labels will fall off during vulcanisation baking, adhesive bleeds out and contaminates rubber surfaces, or labels degrade and turn illegible after long-term outdoor storage. For tyre factories, label failure creates serious troubles: unclear batch information, lost traceability codes, disrupted production-line workflows, and non-compliant finished-tyre products. Therefore purchasing qualified tire-label jumbo-roll raw materials needs strict compliance with dedicated material specifications and high-temperature-resistance standards. Three core components define tire-label performance: face stock material, special-formula adhesive, and high-stability liner. Each component has non-negotiable technical requirements for tyre-manufacturing workflows.

Starting with face-stock material. Three mainstream face-stock options are widely adopted in global tire factories: aluminium-coated paper, 60μm white PP film, and aluminised PET film. These materials share critical features: oil-proof capability to resist contamination from tyre rubber grease, stable texture structure that avoids deformation under high-temperature baking during vulcanisation, and good printing adaptability for variable-data batch codes, QR traceability codes and specification information. Aluminium-coated paper delivers cost-effective performance for mass-production scenarios; 60μm white PP provides good flexibility and conformability for curved tyre side-walls; aluminised PET offers enhanced UV-ageing resistance for finished tyres stored outdoors for extended periods. Face-stock thickness and surface treatment must match high-speed factory printing equipment to prevent ink smudging during high-temperature processing.
Professional rubber-based adhesive represents the critical core for tire-label jumbo-roll materials, and rubber-based adhesive remains the only proven adhesive system adapted for tyre vulcanisation workflows. Conventional acrylic adhesives will soften, flow excessively or lose bonding force under vulcanisation high temperatures. Qualified tire-label rubber-based adhesive delivers multiple key advantages. First, it generates strong and stable adhesion onto rough, uneven rubber tyre surfaces, which are far less smooth than plastic or glass packaging substrates. Second, it achieves high-temperature-resistance performance covering 120°C-150°C to withstand short time high temperature vulcanisation baking. Third, well calibrated rubber based adhesive avoids glue overflow. Glue bleed out would contaminate tyre rubber surfaces and create cosmetic defects on finished tyres. Labels must stay firmly attached without detachment throughout tyre pressing, forming and vulcanisation manufacturing steps. Improper adhesive formula is the top cause of tire label failure in actual factory production.
Third component is stable liner material for tire label jumbo rolls. Two liner options are commonly selected: yellow glassine liner and high tension PE coated kraft liner. Tire factories run high speed automatic labelling machines on production lines. Liners must possess sufficient tensile strength, stable release force parameters and flat winding quality. If liner stretches, wrinkles or breaks during high speed processing, label feeding malfunctions will occur, interrupting continuous tyre production workflows. High tension PE kraft liner performs better under high speed machine working conditions for large volume tyre factory production.
Qualified tire label jumbo roll materials need to pass a set of practical working environment validation tests instead of only laboratory static parameter tests. First is vulcanisation high temperature resistance test: labels maintain attachment and no glue overflow after simulating tyre vulcanisation temperature cycles. Second is long term outdoor UV-exposure ageing test: face stock does not turn brittle or fade, and adhesive does not fail after prolonged outdoor storage simulating finished tyre warehouse and yard storage. Third is rubber grease corrosion resistance test: labels keep stable performance under contact with tyre processing oil and rubber additives. Only materials passing these realcondition tests can serve stable mass production applications.
Common application scenarios cover passenger car tire labels, heavy duty truck tire labels, agricultural machinery tire labels, plus identification labels for other rubber industrial products.
